When he awoke, he found a woman at his head, gazing at him with beautiful, compassionate eyes. Perhaps the following dialogue took place between them:
– You were not here before I fell asleep.
– Yes.
– So you came while I was asleep?
– Yes.
– Where did you come from?
– I came from within you. God created me from you while you were asleep. Don’t you wish to reclaim me while you are awake?
Adam said: Why did God create you?
Eve replied: So that you may find tranquility in me … so that you may find tranquility.
